Guidelines for Emergency and Disaster Responders Site

Greetings one and all,

This site is an expression of my over 26 years of Chaplaincy and Emergency and Disaster Response. This site does officially not reflect any group that I work for or belong to... instead it is dedicated to the responders who need all the support and encouragement they can get as they risk their lives and well being keeping all of us safe and secure.

Please note that you agreed to the guidelines for the site when you joined. If you forget them you will find them on your homepage. Get involved! We will all be better as we do!

Thank you,

Blessings,

David Ebel

Meet Our Moderators

Meet Susan T Frushour who is our moderator over Responder Support. Susan has served her career as a counselor and mental health professional. She has been a disaster responder through the Red Cross for more years than anyone cares to count serving nationally.
Susan is a great friend to each of us as a responder .. not only is she highly trained with lots of experience but she has a gentle heart and is here to help. Please greet her and make her feel at home in her new role. Ready to chat with Susan...go to her homepage and message her.

Welcome to Brian "Moose" Jones who has just taken on a leadership role helping moderate all the groups and forums.

He will also be sharing about our site across the may venues that responders may be active on across the web.Ready to discussion things with Susan..go to her home page and message her.

Please welcome "Moose" and if you haven't gotten to know him...this would be a great time.
As time goes on we will be seeking others to help us meet the needs of this site ... if you think this site is of great value to responders and have the time to make it even better let me know and we can dream together. Need to talk about things with a firefighter who has "been there"? Contact Moose on his home page and then message him.

Meet Bob Atkinson
Bob is a retired sheriff who had more kind of ways to serve than anyone I know. In all his years he has developed a keen sense of right and wrong, a great sense of humor and the ability to make the most complicated conversation sound like a couple country boys eating a moon pie and drinking a double cola.Relaxed and available to share.

Bob is highly trained in Critical Incident Stress Management and also a trained trainer for The Salvation Army. Need advice? Ask a man that can give real answers you end up feeling like you just got help from an old friend,
You see something that needs attention .. just let Bob know and together it will get fixed. Ready to contact Bob? Go to his homepage and message him .

Major David Ebel, Chaplain. Has been serving for 35 years as a minister and 25 of those years as a Chaplain across America. He has been known as the committed and passionate chaplain and counselor at every response and disaster he has been called to.

In addition to his traditional counseling and pastor training, he is trained as a Approved Instructor in Critical Incident Stress Management and is a certified grief, trauma and loss counselor.

In disasters, emergencies and in most of life, David's role is to help empower others to move past their challenges and become happy, whole and prepared to embrace their tomorrow because they overcame the challenges today. This site is a reflection of his care for the well being of responders. Need to contact David? Go to his homepage and message him.

If you are having a rough time, or know someone oh our site is... the moderators are who to contact so they can either provide aid or refer to someone with additional training and experience. We are here as "face to face - responder to responder" ready to help you. Need to vent... no problem... need to debrief... no problem either. Need more than that... please feel free to contact a moderator and we will do our best to help you.

Blessings,
EDRS Leadership Team.
